ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Canada on Vancouver Island, I grew up believing that the most important thing in life is to be happy. I also figured out that happiness can be contagious. My adopted mission to spread smiles, deepened into a desire to engage more meaningfully with other humans on our planet. This commitment has been a driving force in the way that I work and play.

Professionally, I chose to focus my strategic business mind and natural marketing prowess in the creative industry, where inspiration fuels solutions. I opened a US office for a Canadian art rep agency, which moved me to Seattle from Vancouver, BC. The moniker "verysheri" came along in the late 90's when I started producing multi-media happenings with my ex-partner and his creative friends. We would take over empty spaces in Seattle and throw wild, interactive pop-up events. Together, we curated to a theme and brought together performers, artists, movie makers, musicians, designers and local food & beverage purveyors.

By the late 00's I was producing pop-up retail events outside of my full-time career as a business development & marketing director for a large commercial photography studio. I invited artists and designers who made cool shit in their basement to participate in a one-day sale and the proceeds were donated to one of my favorite charities, Art With Heart. The success of these events led me to sign a lease on a storefront and open a gallery called Tasty in Seattle's Phinney Ridge neighborhood to do more of the same, 6 days a week. The funky esthetic of the handmade products and artwork sold at Tasty became synonymous with my style, leading friends to comment on discovered treasures they knew I would adore as "it's SO very sheri".

I continue to produce and curate art happenings on a freelance basis and after closing the gallery, I took up with a branding and design agency (now called ShiftUp), where I further fine tuned my brand strategy, marketing and management skills. Since college, I have collected 20+ years of experience in the graphic design, advertising, communications, branding and marketing industry, working as a team leader, account director, producer, sales professional and entrepreneur. My career highlights can be found on my LinkedIn profile.

In January of 2019, I launched a community project at Cafe Racer in Seattle called LOVE CHURCH, visit the page to learn more, it was one amazing year-long experiment. A few months into the covid scare, my friends who ran Cafe Racer (closed because, um pandemic) started a radio station and the idea was born to broadcast a program of inspirational interviews with distruptors who had paved their own path. I called it Pink Noise, and the 60 plus weekly episodes that followed can be found on spotify, soundcloud and apple podcasts. Thanks for playing the ‘get to know me’ game. Write me back and tell me about you, I look forward to discovering our intersections!
